Plzeň - Slavia
PLZEN/DOOSAN ARENA - Slavia returned to Plzeň where they lost their last away game some 14 month ago. And neither this time managed the red & whites to gain any points. Daniel Kolář decided about the victory for the home side on 79th minute. Plzeň is now 14 points ahead of Slavia on top of the league table.
Slavia started with Ruslan Rotaň and Jaromír Zmrhal in midfield, Milan Škoda returned as striker after Tomáš Necid started against Villarreal on Thursday.

In front of the sold-out Doosan arena the game escalated quickly and Plzeň could take lead just after 3 minutes, but Kopi pass was too long for Petržela inside the box.

On the other side Hušbauer missed the ball in a good position inside the box after Bořil cross from right side just few minutes later.

At minute 11 Škoda appeared in what was the biggest Slavia chance of the opening half after combination of Rotaň and Zmrhal but Kozáčik managed to block his shot from 18 meters.

After half an hour Mick van Buren’s header missed the left post of Plzeň goal. Just a moment later Slavia defence averted danger just to head the ball to Daniel Kolář, luckily, his shot was blocked by Simon Deli.

After the break Plzeň was the first team to create a 100% chance, but Krmenčík headed the ball next to the left post after a cross by Petržela. Two minutes later Škoda created space inside the box but his shot was blocked by one of the home defenders on the goal line.

With time Plzeň created more chances, Kolář headed the ball over crossbar and Kopic missed closely with his cross-shot from the left side.

Viktoria broke the deadlock at minute 79. Daniel Kolář prepared the ball on the left side, noticed Laštůvka far from the goal line and lobbed the Slavia goalkeeper with precise shot. 1-0.

The red & whites created some pressure in the last minutes but neither Škoda nor Necid could find the long balls inside the box. Long-range shot by Ngadeu at minute 90 was the saved by Kozáčik.

Slavia have thus lost their second game of 2017/18 league campaign. On the 3rd place of HET liga they are now 14 points behind Viktoria Plzeň.
