Slovácko - Slavia

Slavia failed to score for the second time in 2020 and lost 0-2 away to Slovácko.
Slavia had to start without Bořil and Ševčík who stayed out of squad due to illness, on the other hand Oscar Dorley made his first league appearance in red and white. In Bořil’s absence Ondřej Kúdela captained Slavia for the first time in the season.

In 22nd minute Stanciu fired from behind the box in Trmal’s hands, but it was Slovácko who took lead two minutes later. Navrátil sent sharp cross from left wing to Zajíc and Kolář had to perform great save against the home forward, but Slavia defence could not clear the ball, it rebounded to Milan Petržela and he sent it into an open net.

In 34th minute Stanciu was close to equalizing when he fired the ball through goalkeeper Trmal after long cross, but Kadlec managed to clear the ball from goal line.

Nicolae Stanciu was the best Slavia player in the first half and Trmal had to stop another of his attempts from outside the box in 42nd minute. On the other side one minute before the end of the opening half Navrátil got enough space in Slavia box but fired wide in good position.

Slavia made two changes into the second half – Masopust replaced Provod and Stanislav Tecl came in for Zima as second striker next to Petar Musa – and Slavia started in good pace. In 55th minute Tecl appeared alone in front of Slovácko goalkeeper after great work by Stanciu, but Trmal managed to block his shot.

In 68th minute it was Stanciu again who fired after Oscar’s pass, but Trmal blocked his sharp attempt again. Jindřich Trpišovský decided to play all in from 70th minute when Yusuf replaced Holeš as third striker. Just two minutes later his attempt was blocked to Masopust who tried his luck from behind the box but sent the ball over the crossbar.

Slovácko could double their lead five minutes before the end when Zahustel headed the ball into the box following cross from the left side, but Kolář denied him with great save and punched the ball for a corner.

The same player however managed to score in 89th minute when he headed the ball alone again and Kolář could not reach the ball this time.

Slavia thus were defeated for the second time in 2020, the red and whites lost 0-2 to Slovácko.
