Champions League: Group F prospects after MD4

Slavia drew at Barcelona and Borussia beat Inter 3-2. What are the prospects for each team in “Group of death”?
Slavia managed to draw 0-0 at Camp Nou against Barcelona and added another great and surprising performance to their record of Champions League Group F. The Red Whites remain on the 4th place though with 2 points for away draws at Inter and Barcelona.

Despite being on the last place Slavia still have a chance to qualify for spring stage of both European competitions. Next game against Inter home at Sinobo (27 October at 9 pm) will be key for Slavia prospects towards Champions League or Europa League.

Inter Milan1126-64
Slavia Prague0222-52

3rd Place: Europa League

If Slavia defeat Inter on MD5 they would skip the Italians and move to the third place of Group F. If Barcelona than wouldn’t lose to Milan away on MD6, even loss at Borussia would be enough for Slavia to keep third spot.

2nd Place: Champions League Round of 16

Even the qualification for UEFA Champions League Round of 16 is still not closed for the Red Whites. On the other hand, the way would be difficult for Jindřich Trpišovský’s men. Slavia would have to defeat both Inter home and Borussia Dortmund away which however wouldn’t be alone enough. In that case Borussia then cannot win at Barcelona on MD5.

In case Slavia would win both their games and Borussia would draw at Barcelona, both teams would be equal after MD6 and the mutual games would decide. The Red Whites lost to Borussia 0-2 at home which means they would have to overcome this goal difference away in Dortmund.
