Charity match | 1.25 million CZK to purchase off-road ambulances

The pre-season warm-up wasn´t just about football. Together with our Slovak guests from Zlaté Moravce and, most importantly, with you – our fans, we utilized its strength and helped where it´s needed. A total of 1.25 million CZK is going towards the purchase of off-road stretchers for transporting the wounded in Ukraine.

One million CZK was raised from the match ticket sales, attended by 6,214 spectators, and two hundred fifty thousand CZK were sent to the collection of the Slavia Foundation, which also included several accompanying activities.

Together, we all stepped forward #BeyondThePitch, and from the announcement of the charity match, it was clear that all funds raised would be directed through the non-profit organization Post Bellum, the Memory of the Nation (Paměť národa) project, and the Ukrainian Embassy in the Czech Republic for the purchase of off-road ambulances and other medical supplies.

"When the opportunity arose during the pre-season for the league to support the purchase of ´Land Rovers,´ which, thanks to the work of volunteers from the Memory of the Nation and the Ukrainian Embassy, will be converted into off-road ambulances for the transportation of the wounded, we didn´t hesitate for a moment. It´s entirely natural for us to come together for the values we believe in and to help where it´s desirable. I would like to thank all the fans who supported this charitable activity," said Jaroslav Tvrdík, Chairman of the Board of SK Slavia Prague.

"In a short period of time, not only Slavia fans but also others contributed to another collection, and again, a significant number of them donated. I am very proud of everyone, and on behalf of the entire Foundation, we thank people for helping spread the good name of Slavia," added David Ocetník, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Slavia Foundation.

In addition to the support from the Slavia Foundation and the fans´ collection through its charitable account, Slavia also called on its supporters and other football and sports fans to provide direct assistance to the collection "Help Ukraine with the Memory of the Nation." Thank you to all who participated!
