Eternal Slavia Prague. A Jersey Story That Writes History
A jersey today is much more than just a piece of sportswear. It reflects tradition, club identity, but more and more often it also transitions into the realm of fashion and design. You want to wear it proudly not just to matches, but also to the gym, school, work, or social events. Anytime and anywhere. Slavia embraced this direction, and the jerseys for the 2025/2026 season have now been officially unveiled.
You can find the new jerseys at www.fanshop.slavia.cz or in the newly opened store of the largest and most modern fan shop in the Czech Republic – right at Fortuna Arena in Eden.
What does the designer himself say about the individual parts of the trilogy Eternal Slavia Prague and about the collection as a whole?
“From the start of our collaboration, I’ve felt a huge sense of responsibility, but also joy over a dream fulfilled. I always wondered what it would be like to design my own football kits. I was immediately excited by the idea, and together with the people from the club we gradually created a jersey story that, in many ways, writes history. It’s a trilogy that blends everything close to Slavia and its fans. Each jersey is unique, but together they form a compact whole. They’re modern but honor tradition. Bold, yet for everyone. Designed, but not gaudy. It was a given for me that the players and coaching staff had to be on board too. They wanted to put them on immediately,” says Pasta Oner.
And he continues: “At the same time, I’m glad we’re pioneers of something that could become a global trend. Limited-edition kits or one-off collaborations are common, but for an artist to design all the kits for a season? That hasn’t been done before. I believe it’s a way to keep pushing football in the right direction. We see amazing artistic displays in the stands; now I hope we’ll see equally recognized visual design on the pitch.”
Now to the jerseys themselves. What, according to their designer, does each part of the trilogy represent?
Away kit – “Eternal”
“When we are gone, you will remain, you are ETERNAL.” So goes one of the chants. Just like Slavia, time and space are eternal. Everything around us. The universe. The infinity of Slavia’s existence is, at times, almost magical. We all know it’s something that transcends the boundaries of this world.
“Abstraction. Infinity. Beyond the boundaries of our world. That’s the universe. And for fans, Slavia is eternal just like that. At times almost magical. In reference to tradition, the away jersey is also stitched. But at the same time, the magical and iconic star is clearly separated from the abstract depiction of the universe’s infinity and eternity. I wanted the jersey to look at first glance like something that doesn’t fit into existing norms—like it came from another galaxy,” explains Pasta Oner.
Home kit – “Slavia”
SLAVIA is red and white. We first wore the iconic home kit in 1896. It’s part of us. Forever. It symbolizes not only our club, but also the whole of Czech football. Football has evolved and changed over time, but our jersey stayed the same. Timeless, stylish. And if innovation happens, it must walk hand in hand with tradition and taste.
“I dare say the home jersey is an absolute icon. Not only in Czechia, but also in Europe and the world. It has remained almost unchanged for nearly 130 years, and coming up with something new is difficult. At the same time, you have to respect tradition. Historically, the jersey is tied to red, white, and the stitched divide. The star is also closely linked with Slavia. For me, it’s the main symbol of the club—of its history and the emotion it passes on to its fans. That’s why I wanted to incorporate the star into another part of the jersey. The transition made of Slavia stars symbolizes memories, experiences, and legends—just like stars in the sky. Moreover, the transition is visible only up close. At first glance, it’s still the same, red and white and stitched. That doesn’t change, and I hope it never will,” Pasta explains the idea behind the home kit.
Third kit – “Prague”
The city of PRAGUE and its pride—Slavia. The one that represents the mother of all cities across Europe and around the world. Not just in the last decade, but since the very beginning. From Císařská louka, through Letná, to Vršovice. We are at home in the heart of the nation and proudly declare: Prague. The capital of the republic is Slavia.
“The star is Slavia. Red and white are its colors. Blue represents the legacy of the legend František Plánička, and also complements the national tricolor, since among the founding fathers of our nation were also the founders of Slavia. And the visible word ‘Praha’? Pride in our city and a clear message that Prague = Slavia. At every away game, it’ll be clear that with Slavia’s star comes Prague as well. The mother of cities and the stitched home. Just like the Yankees, who inspired me—at home they play as the Yankees, away as New York. The map of Prague as a watermark is the artistic final touch to the whole kit, with the Vltava River standing out. It divides two fierce rivals, but only one can truly claim Prague. The third kit symbolizes Slavia’s relationship with its city, its legends, and the history of the country it helped shape,” the designer adds.
Graffiti and symbolism
A special fourth warm-up kit was also created for Slavia, reflecting Pasta Oner’s artistic roots. Someone who proudly associates his artistic beginnings with street graffiti.
“The writings, or tags, come from themes connected with Slavia—historical references, chants, and more. The entire design is topped off by the ‘SKS’ crest, which fans might recognize from the championship collection chosen by the players as their title celebration outfit. It’s the most street-art-inspired piece, since this type of jersey allows for more creative freedom. I believe that once the players run out for warm-up in this design, it’ll grab everyone’s attention. The choice of English is also logical, given the club’s international reach and its participation in the Champions League,” adds Pasta.
From the streets to the auction houses
Who is Pasta Oner? From a young graffiti artist chased by police through the streets of Prague, he became a globally recognized and awarded artist. Zdeněk Řanda, a.k.a. Pasta Oner, is a pop-art creator and pioneer of Czech graffiti and street art. He has held dozens of exhibitions not only in the Czech Republic, but around the world. His painting Pipe and Phone was even auctioned off at one of the world’s most prestigious auction houses—Sotheby’s in London. His first collaboration with Slavia was the Captain’s Armband project, honoring war veterans. Now, this baseball, fashion, and football kit enthusiast has left his mark on Slavia’s new jerseys as well.
