First team back at work

On Thursday 23 July Slavia first team left for fitness training camp to Austria with two summer signings and four players from youth teams.

Two weeks and one day after the last game of 2019/20 season the first team meets again in Eden. The players are leaving for fitness training camp in Austria with two summer signings - Ondřej Karafiát and Jan Kuchta - on board.

Four players from youth teams will join the first team for summer preparation. Jakub Zeronik and Alex Bárta (born 2001) played for Slavia reserves last season, Slovakian midfielder Tomáš Rigo (2002) comes from U19 and goalkeeper Matyáš Vágner made his caps for U17 and U19 last year.

Josef Hušbauer returned from loan to Dynamo Dresden but is currently finalizing his permanent transfer to another foreign club. Mohamed Tijani returned to Vysočina Jihlava after the end of his loan.

Alexandru Baluta who returned from loan to Slovan Liberec is negotiating his move to a foreign club. Jakub Jugas and Jan Matoušek should continue on their loans.

Young players Daniel Kosek, Lukáš Červ and João Felipe do not travel with the team as Slavia negotiates their loans to other clubs.

A valuable draw! Debutant Markovič shines against Atalanta

In the third round of the Champions League group stage, Slavia Prague held Atalanta to a 0–0 draw in Bergamo. The hero of the match was Jakub Markovič, who made at least four phenomenal saves on his Champions League debut. The “Red-and-Whites” picked up their second point in the group standings.

In the second round of the Champions League group stage, Slavia Prague were defeated 0–3 away to Inter Milan at the San Siro. Jindřich Staněk was beaten twice by Lautaro Martínez, a veteran of the sides’ memorable 1–1 draw six years ago, while Denzel Dumfries added a third for the hosts.

Draw 2-2 in the UCL opener against Bodo. Mbodji strikes two

Slavia kicked off their Champions League group stage campaign with a 2–2 draw against Norwegian champions Bodø/Glimt. Jindřich Trpišovský’s side led by two goals — both scored by Youssoupha Mbodji — but the visitors managed to equalize late in the game. Goalkeeper Jindřich Staněk also made a crucial save from the penalty spot while the score was 1–0.
