Miroslav Stoch awarded Czech goal of the year

Slavia players dominate the Czech Goal of the Year 2018 award. Miroslav Stoch’s stunner against Dukla got the most points.
Slovak midfielder scored two goals against Dukla during the game of 13th round in October 2018. The first one with his “weaker” left foot when he curled the ball into the top left corner from outside the box. This strike was awarded Czech Goal of the Year.

Besides of Stoch another Slavia player was in final nomination. Josef Hušbauer was nominated for his solo action against MFK Karviná in July 2018 when he went around four defending players in the penalty area and fired the ball through goalkeeper with low cross-shot. Hušbauer won the competition last year with is long-range effort against Maccabi in UEFA Europa League.

Miroslav Stoch is currently best Slavia striker with 11 league goals and top league assistant with 9 assists. He also won last two rounds of “King of the Assists” competition awarded for most assists every 5 rounds of FORTUNA:LIGA.

​Slavia suffered a late collapse in their final away match of the season, falling 2–3 to Jablonec despite a brace from Vasil Kusej. The Red-Whites led by two goals with just ten minutes to go, but the hosts struck three times late to snatch the win. The match also marked a special moment – club legend Milan Skoda made his first appearance for the A-team in over five years.

The champs take over Prague! 314. derby decided by Oscar

​The champions of the Chance Liga added another feather to their cap on Saturday night, defeating Sparta 2–1 in the 314th Prague derby. Tomas Chory opened the scoring early, and Oscar sealed the dramatic win in the 87th minute to break the deadlock. It was Slavia’s 20th consecutive home league victory, surpassing a nearly century-old club record.

​The champions of this season’s Chance Liga returned to Fortuna Arena in style. In the 2nd round of the championship group, they erased a two-goal deficit against Plzen and claimed a thrilling 4–3 win — their third victory over the West Bohemian side this season. Goals from Schranz, Zafeiris, Zima, and Holes secured the triumph in front of 18,413 fans. Slavia remain perfect at home in this league campaign!
