Nice is good team, but we have prepared

"They are very good opponent, but we have also prepared for them," says Oscar Dorley about Nice before our Europa League game.

Slavia host OGC Nice on Thursday in the third game of UEFA Europa League Group C. What kind of opponent expects Liberian midfielder Oscar Dorley? “They are very good opponent, but we have also prepared for them. In previous games, they played well, and they also won. It’s a strong side. We watched their first game against Leverkusen, then the last game, and especially in the last game we saw some very good performance.”

All teams in Group C have 3 points after 2 games. The next matches could tell a lot about the qualification chances. “Our group is very tough, each team has three points now. But in this upcoming game, we can make a difference. And we are ready to do so,” Oscar says.

This will be second consecutive home game for Slavia, two tough away games in Nice and Leverkusen will follow in the second part of the group. “We do not think about the last match, we think about the game we have to play now. Once we win it, we can start preparing for the next one. Of course, those away games will be very important for us and I think we will have enough time to focus on them,” hopes Oscar.

Nice is led by Patrick Vieira since 2018 and in the current season his side is on 4th place in Ligue 1 table. “Patrick Vieira was one of the best defensive midfielders in the old Arsenal days. When I was growing up, I remember watching their games. He was a good player and we expect he passes this spirit to his team, especially to the midfield,” Oscar said on the Nice manager and a big name in the history of football.

Slavia take on Nice in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday, 5 November. The game in Eden Arena in Prague starts at 6:55 pm CET.
