Our players in national teams

Seven Slavia players made their caps for the Czech Republic, others celebrate qualification for youth EURO.

Czech Republic


Czech national team started the EURO 2020 qualification in the most difficult way – against England away at sold-out Wembley. Our midfielder Tomáš Souček has played the whole 90 minutes, Milan Škoda and Lukáš Masopust came from the bench in the second half. They could not avoid the Czechs losing 5-0 after Sterling’s hat-trick.

On Tuesday 26 March the Czech national team hosted Brazil in an international friendly. It has been the first mutual game between Czechia and Brazil since 1997 and the first game played in Prague since 1956. The Czechs took lead in the first half but eventually lost 1-3 after goals by Roberto Firmino and two by Gabriel Jesusu.

Overall 6 Slavia players appeared on the pitch against Brazil. Souček, Coufal nad Masopust played the whole game, Zmrhal 84 minutes. Kúdela and Král came from the bench during the second half. It was maiden start for Czech senior national team for both.

Slovakia


Slovakia started their EURO 2020 qualification home against Hungary and away in Wales. Our midfielder Miroslav Stoch appeared in both games.

Goalkeeper Martin Vantruba appeared in both friendly games for Slovakia U21 (4-3 against Greece, 2-0 against Norway)

Cameroon


Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui played 90 minutes for the “Indomitable Lions” against Comoros (3-0) in their last game of African Cup of Nations qualification.

Ivory Coast


Simon Deli played 48 minutes for the Ivory Coast in their friendly against Liberia (1-0).

Austria


Jonas Auer has played 25 minutes for Austria U20 against Norway (0-1).

The “Yung Lions” have played 2 friendly games on international tournament in Spain.

The U19 managed to qualify for the 2019 EURO in Armenia (14 to 27 July). The Czechs won their qualification group ahead of England, Denmark and Greece.

Czech Republic U18


Czechia U18 won the international tournament in UAE defeating Belgium, England and Japan. Vincour, Kosek, Vít, Zeronik, Červ, Markovič and Vlček were in the squad.

Czech Republic U17


The Young Czechs U17 managed to qualify for their EURO finishing second in the group with the Netherlands, Northern Ireland and Israel. Starý, Matys, Toula, Hájek and Hroník were in the squad.

In the eighth round, Slavia beat Karviná 3-1 at Fortuna Arena and got ready for Wednesday´s opening Champions League home game against Bodo/Glimt. Mojmír Chytil opened the scoring again, and Lukáš Vorlický responded to the visitors´ equalizer with his first goals for the A-team. All this took place in front of 19,309 spectators.
