Slavia unbeaten against Dutch clubs

There are some notable games against clubs from the Netherlands in Slavia chronicles including one of the most emotional games of our recent history.

Slavia will face Feyenoord in the second game of the UEFA Europa Conference League group stage on Thursday. It will be our first encounter with a Dutch club since December 2008 and a 2-2 draw at Ajax in the UEFA Cup.

Ajax Amsterdam was our only Dutch opponent in the competitive games. They met Slavia on three occasions, lost both UCL qualifiers in 2007 and drew in the last one in the UEFA Cup a year later. Especially the tie in the UCL 3rd qualifying round became one of the most emotional for Slavia fans as the Red-Whites managed to qualify for the UCL group stage for the first time in their history after 1-0 away and 2-1 at home.

This will not be, however, our first game against Feyenoord, even though the two friendlies date back to 1922 and 1932. Our history with the clubs from the Netherlands started already in 1902 with a 6-1 win over Haagsche Voetbal Vereeniging. In 1907 Slavia and HVV met twice again resulting in 2-0 and 4-1 Slavia wins.
