Plzeň - Slavia
Goals: 73. Sima
Abdallah Sima was the match-winner as Slavia defeated Plzeň to win the Czech MOL Cup!
With only 10 minutes on the clock the hosts got into the first big chance of the game when Bucha set up Falta in a clear goalscoring opportunity, but Plzeň winger was denied by Kolář who made a superb save. Four minutes later Beauguel sent another dangerous shot on Kolář, but Slavia goalkeeper performed another fine save.

Slavia had to wait for more than half an hour for their first opportunity. But Lukáš Masopust sent his volley wide after a long cross in the 36th minute. On the other side Kalvach tried to open the score from set piece, but Ondřej Kolář read his intentions and took a couple of steps to his left to block the curling shot over the wall.

Slavia started better after the break and Staněk had to block Stanciu’s low shot from the right side of the box five minutes into the second half.

After 55 minutes Plzeň went down to ten men when Milan Havel tackled Simon Deli on Viktoria own half and saw a second yellow card. However, Slavia had to wait ten more minutes for another opportunity when Bah tried to curl his shot on the far post and Staněk had to block it with a flying save.

The Red-whites finally took lead after 79 minutes. Deli sent a beautiful cross from the left side, Traoré on the far post returned the ball in front of the goal and Abdallah Sima fired it through Staněk into the back of the net. It was Sima’s 16th goal for Slavia this season, the first in MOL Cup and the first after his recovery from recent groin injury.

Three minutes before the end game Plzeň got into the biggest chance to equalise when Brabec latched onto a long cross inside Slavia box and sent his curled shot over the crossbar from ten metres. In the very last minute of the added time Mick van Buren combined with Lingr inside of the box but failed to score face-to-face to Staněk who kicked his effort out.

Thanks to narrow win against Viktoria Plzeň Slavia won their third MOL Cup in last four years. After a one-year break the Red-whites also got the Czech Double.
