I have dreamt of scoring in front of the fans
Abdallah Sima scored 16 goals in 32 starts for Slavia first team this season. In his first start in MOL Cup he was the match-winner coming from the bench and scoring the only goal of the match in the 73rd minute. Sima thus scored in all competitions he started to this season – Fortuna Liga, UEFA Europa League, MOL Cup and Czech Footall League (Czech 3rd tier) for Slavia reserves.
“I cannot really describe what I’m feeling. It was my dream to score in the final and to help the team to win,” said 19-year old Senegalese forward, who joined Slavia first team in the middle of the autumn part of the season, after the Cup final against Viktoria Plzeň.
The entire season was extraordinary not only for Sima, but for the entire club. “I think it was about the team. The guys work very hard every day, the staff, the whole team works really hard. And every time we focus on winning the game,” Sima added.
Despite the anti-pandemic measures still in force in the Czech Republic, 10% of the stadium capacity in Plzeň could be filled with fans and Czech FA partners. It was thus the very first goal that Sima could celebrate with fans. “I have also dreamt about scoring in front of the fans. I have scored many goals this season with no fans at the stadium. So, I am very happy to score when they could come,” Slavia forward concluded.
