Milan Škoda after BATE: I did believe I can score

BARYSAW – He scored the only goal for Slavia and even though the sewn-ones lost 1-2 to BATE, they qualified thanks to the 1-0 home victory. Slavia captain Milan Škoda headed the ball into the net after Danny’s cross. “I did believe I can score, but my last header was on EURO 2016,” revealed the best Slavia striker an interesting statistics.
“It’s great that we did manage to qualify for the play-off, even though we lost to BATE. It is a fantastic moment and we are enjoying it,” Milan Škoda begun.

“We conceded the first goal after our own mistake which was very unpleasant, but I did believe if we score the goal, we can’t concede three. That is what we wanted in the second half – not to concede – but we entered the pitch and BATE scored. I was really angry at that moment because it was a great complication,” continued Slavia captain.

“I don’t really understand what we were doing on the beginning of both periods. The second half was not good from our side, we were under pressure after the second goal and another one would already mean qualification for BATE. It was a hard game and we needed strong nerves for it,” Škoda said after the game.

“I am really happy for my goal because it was an important one. But the qualification is the main thing for now. I did believe I can score, but the outcome was just a crossbar in the first leg. I felt a great relief when I saw the ball falling into the net tonight. I scored my last header on EURO 2016 and I thought the net is somehow enchanted for me. I have scored goals from the penalty kicks, but none with the head,” concluded Milan Škoda.
