Our goal is clear – qualification, but we have to be careful

Manager Jindřich Trpišovský and captain Jan Bořil spoke to media before the second leg against Legia Warsaw.

Slavia can benefit from return of Ondřej Kúdela, who’s available again for European matches. Both manager Jindřich Trpišovský and captain Jan Bořil agreed that his presence is vital for the team’s style of play. "Return of Ondřej Kúdela is crutial for us. He reads the game perfectly, his vision is suberb. Thus, he´s a key player for us and we´re glad he´s back," were the first words from captain during the press conference before second leg against Legia Warsaw.

Manager shared the same point of view. "Ondřej Kúdela is more than just important. From the goals we´ve conceded so far in this campaign, we can see that we lacked experience and that´s the most important attribute he gives us. I’m glad that he’s back, as well as Jan Bořil. Link between Kolář-Kúdela-Bořil changes everything for us."

Jan Bořil played a key role in Czech Republic’s journey to quarterfinal in EUROs, but shortly after he sustained an injury and only on Sunday he got his first minutes of the season against Baník Ostrava. "I´m glad to be back. I´m not there physically yet, I´d say I´m at 70 % of my full ability, but I´m ready. The match against Baník helped me a lot."

Even though Jan Bořil is back, there’s still plenty of players on Slavia’s injury list, one of them being Michael Krmenčík, who is yet to make an apperance for the Red-Whites. But Jindřich Trpišovský doesn´t rule the chance that he might feature in the tommorow’s match against Legia. "Michaeal Krmenčík has two full training sessions in his tank. He won´t be ready to start from the beginning, but there´s a possibility he´ll help us from the bench."

Slavia drew 2:2 at home against Legia after missing plenty of chances to get the win, but according to Jan Bořil first match changes nothing and ambition is still the same – qualification. "We came here to get the qualification for the group stage, anything less would not be enough. But we´ve seen last week that Legia can be dangerous, so we have to be very careful for the whole game."
