Surprising history: Inter crushing defeat in Prague 80 years ago

Slavia met with Inter (Ambrosiana) only twice but managed to record impressive 9-0 win in Prague in 1938 Mitropa Cup.
In the modern history of the club, Slavia have met with 5 Italian clubs in competitive games: AS Roma in 1996 (2-0 home and 1-3 away), Bologna in 1998 (1-2 away and 0-2 home), Udinese in 2000 (1-0 home and 1-2 away, Palermo in 2006 (2-1 home and 0-1 away), Genoa in 2009 (0-2 away and 0-0 home) and Fiorentina in 2008 (0-2 away and 0-0 home).

Our last – and the only – encounter with Inter Milan (Ambrosiana) dates back to 1938 when the two clubs met in 2nd round of Mitropa Cup, the most prestigious European international competition of its time. Slavia managed to surprise Ambrosiana in the first leg in Prague and prepared a devastating 9-0 defeat for the Italian side. Despite losing 1-3 in the second leg in Italy Slavia qualified for the next round and eventually won the trophy. It remains one of the biggest moments in Slavia history.
