
Icha scores on his debut in Slavia win over Zlín


And it was Icha who gave Slavia lead with only 10 minutes on the clock. He was left unattended inside of Zlín box after Ševčík’s corner and headed the ball into the bottom left corner. It was Icha’s first goal not only in Slavia, but also in any competitive game.
Slavia had possession and controlled the game but could not create any chance until 28th minute when Ševčík’s shot was saved by Dostál after nearly half an hour.
But shortly afterwards Ondřej Lingr got enough space on the right win after Slavia throw-in, set up David Jurásek on the other side of the box and our left back sent the ball into an open net.
Second half started with several corner kicks for Zlín, but it was Slavia mistake in the 49th minute who gave the guests chance to score. After a misplaced pass Zlín got ball behind our penalty area, deflected through pass got to Simerský who set up Lamin Jawo and Zlín forward fired the ball through Mandous.
Shortly after the first goal Chanturishvili sent another effort on Mandous after a counter-attack, but Slavia goalkeeper saved his low shot into his gloves.
Slavia were caught napping on the beginning of the second half, but later the game equalized and after Zlín went down to ten men when Procházka saw his second yellow the home side could finally decide the game.
In the 85th minute Jurečka sent another great cross from the right side and Ivan Schranz fired his volley into the net on the far post. Eight minutes later Marek Icha’s pass from the right side fell through Zlín box, Dostál could not reach it and David Jurásek scored into an open net. It was his second goal of the night.
Slavia thus recorded their first league win of the new season. Next game awaits the Red-Whites on Thursday when they travel to Athens to face Panathinaikos.
