Sor scored twice as Slavia beat St Joseph’s

Slavia started with several good opportunities, in the biggest one Usor’s curled shot into the top right corner was blocked by goalkeeper Fitzsimons in the 17th minute.
Only 4 minutes later Yira Sor showed that he intended to continue in his European goal-streak from the previous season. Douděra and Usor combined on the right side of the pitch, Usor passed the ball to Sor inside of the box and our striker thumped it in with a touch of the woodwork.
With 10 more minutes Sor doubled our lead with his second goal of the day. Usor assisted again and the Nigerian forward sent his shot into the bottom left corner from similar position as before the opening goal.
Another blow for the home side came few minutes later when Pecci Macias hit Ewerton with an elbow in a duel on the half of the pitch and was sent off.
St Joseph’s down to ten men conceded once more before the half-time. In the 43rd minute Yira Sor was close to a hat-trick, but Fitzsimons blocked his shot. Shortly afterwards, however, Ewerton was set-up by Traoré inside of the box and fired the ball through the home goalkeeper.
Second half brought many wasted chances for Slavia, but also the biggest chance for the hosts. Shortly after the restart of the play Santos had to block Valarin’s dangerous shot with a sliding tackle.
After 54 minutes manager Trpišovský made four substitutions and one of the new men on the pitch – Ondřej Lingr – scored only two minutes later sending the ball into an open net after the goalkeeper blocked Usor’s effort.
Slavia this won their opening game of the UECL campaign 4-0 away at St Joseph’s in Gibraltar. The second leg will be played in Prague on 28 July.
