Stoch: I came to help to defend the title

PRAGUE – Just a few minutes after a victorious game with Jihlava, Slavia introduced their new reinforcement. Slovak midfielder Miroslav Stoch is coming from Fenerbahce signing 2 year deal. “I have been following Czech league carefully. It has always been close to me,” Stoch said during a press conference.

PRAGUE/EDEN ARENA – Slavia players succeeded in their last league game before the first leg of Champions League Play-off with APOEL. Thanks to Hušbauer’s penalty kick and Danny’s first goal in red-and-white, the sewn ones defeated Jihlava 2-0.
Eduard Sobol coming on loan from Shakhtar

PRAGUE – Ukrainian left-back Eduard Sobol is coming to Slavia on 1-year loan from Shakhtar Donetsk. 22-year-old Sobol, who has four caps for Ukrainian senior national team, spent the last season on loan in Zorya Luhansk.

PRAGUE – Slavia will fight with APOEL Nicosia to qualify for the UEFA Champions League group stage. Tickets for the home game in Eden Arena (Wednesday 23rd August) are currently sold out.

OSTRAVA/CITY STADIUM – Slavia came to Ostrava to face Baník – the runners-up of last season’s Football National League (2nd tier). Despite several chances and two disallowed goals – one on both sides – the sold-out City Stadium did not see any goal. Baník 0-0 Slavia.
Švento after UCL draw: We expect tough away game

PRAHA - Dušan Švento is the only player who remembers Slavia competing in the 2007/08 Chympions League. Now the sewn-ones will face APOEL in their attempt to qualify into the group stage again. "The Play-off games are extremely important and the smallest thing could decide about the outcome," knows our midfielder.

PRAGUE/NYON – Slavia will face APOEL from Cyprus in the UEFA Champions League Play-off. The first leg will be played away in Nicosia on 15th August, the second leg home in Eden on 23rd August.
Milan Škoda after BATE: I did believe I can score

BARYSAW – He scored the only goal for Slavia and even though the sewn-ones lost 1-2 to BATE, they qualified thanks to the 1-0 home victory. Slavia captain Milan Škoda headed the ball into the net after Danny’s cross. “I did believe I can score, but my last header was on EURO 2016,” revealed the best Slavia striker an interesting statistics.

BARYSAW – Slavia have qualified for the UEFA Champions League play-off! The sewn-ones conceded a quick goal in BATE stadium, but Milan Škoda equalised at the end of the first half. Bate managed to take the lead once more, but the 1-2 defeat was enough for Slavia. Thanks to 1-0 home victory the club secured its spot in 2017/18 European cups.

MINSK - Slavia have arrived to Minsk for tomorrow’s second leg of UEFA Champions League 3rd qualifying with BATE. “We believe in good result, good enough to qualify,” manager Jaroslav Šilhavý said after the arrival to the capital of Belarus. Slavia are travelling to Borisov tomorrow, the game is scheduled at 8 pm local time 7 pm CET).

PRAGUE/EDEN - Seven changes into the starting eleven and another narrow win thanks to an early penalty. Slavia beat FK Teplice in the first league game of 2017/18 season thanks to Halil Altintop. The Turkish midfielder converted from the spot just 10 minutes into the game.

PRAGUE/EDEN ARENA - Slavia defeated BATE in the first leg of UEFA Champions League 3rd qualifying round. BATE was down to ten men from 15th minute, but the narrow 1-0 victory was achieved only thanks to Škoda´s converted penalty kick.

PRAGUE - Slavia launch their 2017/18 campaign with brand new home kit. It respects the 125-year long tradition of red and white colour with the star on the chest. The new home kit will be available in fan-shop from 15th August on.
