JIHLAVA/STADION V JIRÁSKOVĚ ULICI – Despite being one goal down at the half-time Slavia came from behind to beat Vysočina Jihlava 3-1 in the Czech MOL Cup round of 16.
Manager Jaroslav Šilhavý made several changes to the line-up after an unsuccessful game with Liberec (1-2). Kovář started in goal, Bílek and Flo in the defence and Tomáš Necid as a striker.

After 10 minutes Danny had the opening chance of the game but his shot from inside the box was saved by Rakovan.

At minute 21 Jihlava had taken lead when Martin Nový sent his shot from distance precisely to the far post of Kovář goal.

Just five minutes later Stoch could equalize from the free kick but his shot went just centimetres over the crossbar.

Mick van Buren replaced Miroslav Stoch for the second half and the impact of the Dutch offensive midfield was almost immediate as he was involved in two Slavia goals.

At minute 52 van Buren found Frydrych on the right wing and his cross fitted under the crossbar to drew Slavia level.

Just four minutes later it was van Buren again who jinked past the defender inside the box and sent a wonderful pass to Tomáš Necid. It was then no big deal for our striker to score his 8th goal in just 10 games for Slavia. We took lead 2-1.

And another three minutes later Per-Egil Flo doubled the lead for Slavia when he capitalized from combination performed by Danny and Zmrhal.

Thanks to the improved play in the second half Slavia qualified for the MOL Cup quarter-final. The red & whites beat Jihlava 3-1.
